At Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, we want to make sure that everybody has a place to get involved. With that in mind, check out some of the areas below that you participate in. Don't forget to visit our Music and Missions pages and look at the list of ways to Volunteer on the green sidebar of each "Get Involved" page for more opportunities.

Sunday School

We have a class for everybody. Whether you are single, married, divorced or widowed, we have a place for you. We have classes for couples and gender specific classes. We want to make sure that everyone is comfortable and can find a class where they can establish friendships to last a lifetime. Come learn about God's will for your life in a loving and supportive environment.

Men's Ministry

It is the goal of the Men's Ministry to strengthen the men in our church and our community by…

  • training men for the physical and mental battles of workplace and community
  • equipping men to lead and serve in their homes, church, workplace and community
  • providing men with opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, support and accountability.

Women's Ministry

This is not only a ministry to the women of all ages in Calvary, but also a wonderful way to minister to the lost, the hurting, and those seeking an encouraging word, and just a fun night out with the ladies. For a short two hours, you can come away rejuvenated and it’s free! The themed meetings are every three months in the Fellowship Hall. The room is decorated lovely just for you. There is wonderful food, fun games, door prizes, inspirational word from God, and great music. Whether you have a special gift or not, we encourage you to come and be a part of the planning and preparing. If you are overbooked and tired, we just want you to come and let us take care of you! Come enjoy great fellowship. Jesus has a table prepared for you and so do the ladies at Calvary.

Heart 2 Heart

FYI - To All Widows. We are alive and well. We have a new name - Heart 2 Heart. Join us every third Friday at 12:00 noon in the private dining room at Regional Hospital. We welcome all widows for a time of lunch, fellowhip, support and fun. For information, contact Carolyn Evans or Ramona Mercer.

Senior Adults

"Senior Adult" doesn't mean what it used to. The Senior Adults at Calvary do not sit around and watch life pass them by. They are active and involved and having a GREAT time serving our Lord! From "Breakfast with Dave" (David Whaley, Minister of Music/Sr. Adults) to monthly trips around the region and two majoy trips a year, our Senior Adults make the rest of us wish we had some of their energy!

G.R.I.P.

G.R.I.P. stands for God Reaching Individual People. It is designed to be a user-friendly, people-friendly approach to both our outreach to the lost and the inreach to our church.

There are 2 doors to the church. People come in through the front door and exit through the back door. The goal of GRIP is to lead people through the front door by witness, invitation, or promotion. GRIP's second goal is to stop people from exiting out the back door. We will use phone calls, prayer cards, and visits to minister to those considering using the back door.

GRIP will be composed of 4 teams made up of 3 groups. The Team Captains are Buddy Holyfield, Megan Fuller, Robbie Bass, and Chuck Williams. Those groups will be: 1) Those who visit; 2) Those who call or write; 3) Those who pray and bake cookies.

GRIP will meet 4 times per month. In addition, there will be one organizational meeting on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
